Presentation

Prevostura was an ancient farmhouse embraced by vineyards, where the best wine of Lessona was produced. Today the edifice’s presence is revealed by its ruins although the slope has revived, gaining its antique splendour thanks to its new owner who has planted new vines and cleared up the unpaved road, just like the nearby Cascina Badina, turned into a farm holiday which produces a great quality wine. The present itinerary permits to follow the ancient roads which were used by the farmers’ carts during the last centuries, while today they are most suitable for mountain bike excursions.

This race will lead you up and down the hills, through woods, vineyards, pastures, farmhouses and ancient boroughs, spanning narrow streams and torrents: one of the most impressive routes in the territory of Biella. PREVOSTURA winds for about 45 kilometres for the athletes and 22 kilometres for the non-competitive cyclists. The race begins from the centre of Lessona, it reaches the vineyards and the woods which skirt Rio della Valle torrent, it climbs towards the Prevostura encountering Osterla torrent, then up through the woods arriving in Masserano. From there back to Osterla torrent and up to Castello hamlet from where the non-competitive cyclists will proceed to the arrival while the athletes will once again reach Osterla torrent, climb along the steep slopes towards the Cross in Masserano, from where the breathtaking view reaches the Apennine Alps. Then they will descend towards the valley reaching Osterla torrent, climb up towards Castello hamlet from where a downhill road followed by a steep uphill path leads to Lessona’s Parish Church. From here a final downhill road will lead them to the arrival spot.

The cost includes: registration taxes, racing package, medical and mechanical assistance, refreshment spots along the race, lunch, hot showers, bicycle wash and PASTA PARTY.

The registrations will be carried out by OTC COMO, therefore if you want to register in advance you can use the online form on www.otc-srl.it, where you will find the race’s link and the link for your registration (Sdam ChampionChip). Fill out the form and if you prefer you can pay by credit card, otherwise you can use the Asd Amici MTB Lessona postal account indicated below, then send to OTC Como e-mail address prevostura@otc-srl.it or fax at 0039.031.8120248 the payment receipt.

If you prefer to use the form you find on our website, save the form, fill it out and send it to OTC Como at prevostura@otc-srl.it, attaching the payment receipt.

If you decide to use the form attached at the brochure or stamp the one available on our website, you can fax it at 0039.031.8120248, always enclosing the payment receipt.

WARNING: for the FCI members it is obligatory to register on the federal informatics system, keying in http://ksport.fattorek.it/fci (you will find the race by clicking on the link “gare” (races) and keying in the race’s ID: 31017. Stamp the form and send it to our fax number 0039.015.981164.

The athletes associated to foreign associations must send their registration to FCI following the usual international procedure.

Other than implying a lower cost, advanced registration favours the starting-grid positioning; the date of registration will be taken into consideration. In addition, the cyclists who chose the advanced registration will be given priority in the distribution of their racing number and package, once the card control has taken place.

WARNING:  the card members can register on Sunday morning strictly within 08.15. The tourist-cyclers (non-competitive cyclists’) registrations will be open up to Sunday at 9.30 o’clock

The tourist-cyclers must present a medical certificate proving their good health (signing the registration implies that the participant has it). Under-18 racers must have written consent of their parents (the filled out form signed by them).

WARNINGS

Participating in sport events is in general a potentially risky activity and it is therefore necessary to be physically healthy and appropriately trained for such competition. In addition, the non-competitive cyclists must be provided with a medical certificate (medical visit and certificate for non-competitive activity).

Registration is voluntary, implying the assumption of all the risks your participation in the race may bring; falls, contact with vehicles, other cyclists, spectators or other subjects; any weather condition, traffic and road conditions, risks already known during registration. In lack of a membership card and according to the rules in force (non agonistic provisions D.M. 28.02.83, sanitary safeguard) you must present a medical certificate proving your good state of health (family-doctor certificates will be accepted).

Since you will be participating in a quite demanding ecologic ride, it will be in your interest to visit a doctor who can attest your good health conditions.

During registration you must fill out and sign the registration form. Under 18 year old riders must carry an official, parental permission.

Being aware of the above regulations, the acceptance of the registration must be done for you own sake. Therefore neither the Organiser, the Promoter boards, the assistants nor the personnel must be held responsible for present or future complaints, responsibilities of any nature resulting from your participation in the race.

In addition, the organisers are not to be held responsible for eventual damages exceeding the indemnity limits fixed by the Insurance’s Civil Liability Terms.

You will grant authorisation to use photographs, videos and any other aspect relative to your participation in the race for any legal use, without remuneration, authorising the use of personal data in accordance to law 675/96.

Any other unspecified case will be regulated according to the UCI/FCI rules and the Italian laws, when these can be applied.

The Organiser Committee may at any time modify the present regulations in order to offer a better organisation or if specifically demanded by UCI/FCI, as long as it gives prior notice.
